Depending on the component material, shape, and dimensions, hydroforming can be a more economical choice than metal spinning. At Metalspun Products, we are leaders in both processes, and can assist customers in determining the optimal forming method for their application.

This hydroformed steel headlight shell was fabricated for our customer in the automotive industry. The headlight is 7.06" x 4.66" and made of 20 gauge cold rolled steel. The part is hydroformed to obtain its unique shape. After hydroforming, the part is trimmed, bead rolled, then a hole pattern is laser cut. We offer a variety of value-added ancillary processes including cutting, trimming, and precision machining. We produced 63 of these headlight shells for our customer in Watertown, South Dakota.
